The Red Bull Box Cart Race is a national race for amateur drivers, fueled by creativity, fun competitiveness, and gravity. Drivers are not allowed to use engines, pedals or other ways of pushing their cart after it leaves the start line. Out of the 337 applicants 56 teams were chosen to compete on the day.
For the 2nd Annual Red Bull Box Cart Race in Japan, I was called to art direct and create all event materials, entry booklets, course signage, flyers and special announcement activities.
I also created the UX and design of Japan’s first iAds for iPhone devices to announce the event in 2011. The event was a major success, with over 20,000 attendees.
